The summer marine camp organized by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club kicked off yesterday on the shores of Dibba Al-Hisn, with great success and wide participation, although it is held for the first time there, and it is based on the model of the multiple marine camps that the club organizes during the summer and spring vacations every year.

The camp is held under the slogan “Live the Life of the Sea”, and is dedicated to school students from ages 6 to 16, and is held in cooperation with the Sharjah Council and continues until next July 5. The camp witnessed a wide participation of students from the city of Dibba Al-Hisn and the surrounding places who wish to practice in all kinds of marine sports during the summer school vacation.

The Board of Directors of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club had monitored a set of constructive goals that it seeks to achieve through the organization of the current summer camp in Dibba Al-Hisn, and the next camp to be held on the Al-Khan Corniche in Sharjah, which was scheduled to take place from 10 to 16 July.

For his part, Ahmed Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Sharjah Maritime Club, who supervises the establishment of events and the distinguished turnout witnessed by the launch of Dibba Al-Hisn camp, pointed out that the diversity of the camp’s activities contributed to a great turnout by school students who love marine sports such as rowing, water bikes, diving and fishing in addition to sports Beach volleyball and soap ball. He added: “The camp aims to enhance the social role of the club, provide opportunities to practice recreational marine sports, spread the spirit of loyalty and belonging among children, youngsters and young people through practicing marine activities, discovering the talents of children and youth, developing their performance and investing free time during the summer vacation.”
