His Highness Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, and HE Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, crowned the champions of the second round of the UAE Formula 4 Powerboat Championship that took place in the Al Khan Sea in Sharjah yesterday afternoon, with a great and distinguished participation that included the most important and prominent stars of the Formula 4 speedboat races. On a local scale, Sultan Al Mazrouei won the first place and the round cup deservedly surpassing all his rivals after he achieved 35 points from the total of the two stages of the race, followed by Manea Al Marzooqi in second place with 32 points, then Hamdan Al Falahi third with a total of 24 points.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club participated in the ceremony honoring the champions, namely Hassan Al Zaabi, Hamid Al Muhairi, Ahmed Al Hosani, Executive Director of the club, Salem Al Rumaithi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club, representative of the Emirates Marine Sports Federation.
The tour witnessed the participation of 8 powerboats, all of them made in a national industry and were efficiently manufactured at the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club.
As is the case with all races organized by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club in the Al-Khan Sea, the last round of Formula 4 competition witnessed a large crowd presence that extended along the Al-Khan Corniche to follow the event’s competitions and interact with its competitors who were keen to achieve the best results.
HE Ali Salem Al Midfa thanked Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, for his presence at the event and for his keenness to crown the champions of the event at the conclusion of the competitions, praising the success achieved by the tour, whether at the level of organization or the level of competition, and said that Formula races of various categories always enjoyed with a distinctive audience following what it is witnessing from the excitement and thrill.
Al Midfa congratulated the winners, especially the contestants representing Sharjah Marine Club, who had achieved outstanding results in the race. He also confirmed that the club is preparing for the new season’s competitions with more diverse marine events, locally and abroad, especially in the events that highlight the name and value of the Emirate of Sharjah.
