The Licensing and Maritime Safety Committee at the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club held its first meeting chaired by Fahd Ahmed Abdullah Al Khumairi, member of the club’s board of directors, chairman of the committee, and in the presence of Ahmed Al Hosani, Executive Director of the club, Dr. Mohammed Abdulazim, advisor for strategic planning and institutional excellence, and both members Ahmed Hassan Rashid Al-Jarwan, Ibrahim Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Hammadi, and Ayman Abdo as the reporter.
Al Khumairi, Chairman of the Committee, was keen during the meeting to convey the greetings of Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors and all his colleagues, members of the Board of Directors, to the members of the Committee, wishing the committee success in its mission that the club relies on. All marine sports have many hopes during the activities and competitions of the season, it has high technical expertise and powers that guarantee the safety of all contestants in all races and events organized by the club, after the technical approval of tools, devices and boats of various types and categories.
Al Khumairi reviewed the agenda of the meeting, which included many important matters related to the role of the Licensing and Maritime Safety Committee in all marine sporting events, including discussing the requirements of the committee for all marine activities, taking into account the legislative status of each activity, relying on training centers to promote tourism and trade in the emirate, and working to organize races and events of all marine sports in the emirate.
During the meeting, the decree of establishing the club was reviewed, and the committee’s terms of reference, future plans and assignments received from the Board of Directors were reviewed. The meeting also discussed the members ’plans and ideas regarding the necessity for all marine sports practitioners to adhere to all safety and security means, and to pass all procedures that allow obtaining an approved license in order to practice the activity. .
